A few weeks ago Russ brought you news about the Black Panther Movie. Casting rumors are starting and it’s a classic case of good idea, don’t you fucking ruin this movie right because I will flip the fuck out.
Lil’Romeo is up for the role and said the following
“I remember that before Jumping the Broom got released, there were some producers were talking about shopping the script to some people and I was one of the people they contacted and was asked if it was something I would be interested in… You never know. I definitely want to take in and be the next big action hero. That may be something that’s cool.”
I hate everything in that quote. Especially the ‘Jumping the Broom’ part. I think this would be a huge mistake in terms of casting. A HUGE MISTAKE. Cast an actor and they can play a part. Cast Lil’Romeo and you’ll have a recognizable name for all the wrong reasons.
The good idea is Anthony Mackie. He had this to say.
“If Black Panther is made into a movie, I would love for it to be along the lines of Batman. It has to be an adult action hero. I would love to be a part of it, though, and I would sign on to it today.”
Granted it’s a mere 24 hours since my Batman Promise, but Black Panther is a character similar to Batman. He’s a king! You can’t make it crazy if we are to believe the main character is a king of a technologically advanced African Nation.
Still we want Chiwetel Ejiofor, but younger probably makes more sense.
If they try to do to Black Panther what they did to Alex Cross and cast a buffoon and kill the franchise. I will burn the world! Chiwitel is only 35. RDJ is 44 going on 45.
