Movie Movie Podcast #28: This is Reacher

Another doozy of a podcast and I finally got the gallery to work again! You’ll have to take my word for it about this week being a doozy of a podcast. A real, hardcore, sweaty, intense, raw dog doozy of a podcast. And I write this hours, if not days, before we are set to record our next podcast! That’s how much of a doozy it is. Join Russ, Alex, Peter and myself as we argue about Jack Reacher and This is 40. Fake Movie Friday: Bumpkin

I think this was the suggestion of a movie title I got last night. I cannot remember at this point… but it was something like this.

Bumpkin

In the Chisslewood Forest that is in the land of Blissington there lives a society of elves. A very human like society with schools, hospitals etc, except that everything used is magic. They teach magic, read books about magic, all their songs have the word magic in the title (along with some human songs with magic in the title), they cure disease with magic.  They have a magic mirror which transports them to the human world through the clouds, but it is forbidden to do so unless you are told explicitly by the Calelf, the ruler of all of Blissington. There are also three androgynous siblings, Bumpkin, Trumpkin and Mumpkin.  Continue reading →

Fake Movie Friday: Hillbilly Preacher

We watched a movie with a hillbilly preacher in it last night, and then Andrew Dunn gave me the suggestion of that as the title for todays FMF.

Travis lives in the small, back woods community known as Greenside. There are 40 people who live there with him, all with different trades and skill sets. Travis is the one who keeps everyone believing, the preacher at their local parish which is the tallest building in the area. The whole community loves Travis, they are a self-sustaining people and have been able to make do without electricity, consumerism and government.  Continue reading →

Fake Movie Friday: Healthy Living Through Sobriety

Thankfully Russ posted his movie, I always worry when I am the first one to post… Like maybe everyone forgot. Or they’re off having fun without me while I’m writing and they stopped caring… We’ll deal with these issues and more (no we won’t) in my latest movie! This will be another quick one, I’m just trying to figure out what this will be about… all I have right now is the title. I kinda like this title:

Healthy Living Through Sobriety

We open on 20-something Tyler, who is just being let out of jail for selling narcotics in Missouri. His parents are picking him up. There is a whole lot of voice overs that set up where he has been and what happened. There is also one of those very awkward car rides where no one says anything the whole trip and just stares forward.
