The Elders Have Arrived

A bunch of behind the scenes stills from the set of Prometheus were just released over on the Prometheus Forums. Most of the photos seem to be of the Engineers getting into costume, along with a couple of still shots from the movie. Oh right and then there is this one shot that shows an Elder, who are believed to have created the Engineers, from what would appear to be an extended intro. I assume this Elder Engineer heads home in that ship that is perpendicular to the ground in the opening. Check it out, and then check out the others:

A Box of Home Movies in the Attic is Never a Good Sign

Sinister is the new horror film from director Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still) starring Ethan Hawke (Gattaca, White Fang) as an author who moves his family into a new house, a house with a tortured up past. I’ve been hearing quite a bit of positive feedback about this movie from those lucky enough to have caught it at SXSW and have been anxiously awaiting the trailer. Finally, the wait is over thanks to Arrow in the Head. I won’t lie, I was not enthralled by this trailer. Too much of it seemed cheesy (“I’m gonna write the best book that anyone’s ever read”), and it does that horror movies trailer thing where every time a certain noise plays they will cut to black, like in the Texas Chainsaw reboot and the camera sound, and it seemed like every other haunted house horror movie type.

Then at 2:16 into the trailer I was convinced I need to see it. Continue reading

Avengers, Reassembled

It looks like The Avengers MIGHT receive the Avatar treatment this August, according to an article on superheroauthority.com. The Three hour directors cut, which director Joss Whedon has spoken about prior, may be released in theaters at the end of the summer in preparation for the super mega blu ray release of the film. It’s no secret that The Avengers made exactly a metric fuck ton of money and currently holds the #3 spot of all time domestic gross ($573M), behind Avatar at #1 ($760M) and Titanic at #2 ($658M).

Fake Movie Friday – The Computer Whisperer

The Computer Whisperer

Let’s make this quick because this idea does’t deserve much space…(Spoiler: it’s so fucking long still)

The D is Silent

:Insert something mildly racist but heartwarming and funny here:
Out this Christmas, Tarantino’s latest, Django Unchained, doesn’t exactly feel or look like one of his at first, but it definitely sounds the part. I enjoy that. Check it:

Fake Movie Friday – Prefontaine 2: Blade Runner

Welp… Yeah… the title says it all. I’ve got nothing for this week. Not that I ever have something any other week. I had this title written down in an old notebook. This is by far the worst FMF yet, there is no real story arc or anything and I still wrote too much it. Not to mention this is probably the only FMF we’ve done that could not become an actual film.

Before we start, the poster for this will be similar to Weird Al’s Running With Scissors album cover.

For reference:

Moving on…

Fake Movie Friday – Hackers 2: Hack the Planet

FRIDAY!!! I really do look forward to this, and I wish I could shut up about it. BUT I CANNOT AND WILL NOT. I also wish I could write a shorter treatment at some point, these things go on forever. This week I’m trying my hand at the set up sequel, the one where nothing really happens and it’s obvious a third will be coming since you just watched 2 hours of pointless shit. For your reading pleasure: Hackers 2: Hack the Planet
