Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) is stepping in joining Pierce Bronson, Imogen Poots, and Toni Collette in the upcoming adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel ‘A Long Way Down.’ Emile Hirsch was originally cast but is leaving the project because Hirsch clearly has no clue what to do with his career.

Fake Movie Friday: Knockout Nanny
Did you ever see Mr Nanny? Yeah I still watch it all the time. Kind of like that. Or The Pacifier, etc etc etc.
I present for your reading pleasure: Knockout Nanny
Julie has been the nanny for the Henderson’s for 5 years now. She’s 29, handles 13 year old Niles and the 7 year old Amanda very well. They both love her and she them. Mr Henderson, Jeffry (played by Hank Azaria), works long hours for the government on top secret projects. Mrs Henderson, Rachel, is an alcoholic, but a lovable, competent one who has more hilarious situations than disastrous.
There are scenes of Julie chasing the kids around, getting them ready for school, Rachel is passed out at the kitchen table and Jeff is running out the door. Julie is able to drive the kids to school, go grocery shopping and keep the Henderson’s life sane. She is also a black belt in muay thai kickboxing. We see scenes of her in her gym training with her master, Jin. Continue reading

So I’m waiting for Zach to get here and we are going to go golfing. The trains are slow and I’ve decided to write a paranoid film in the style of 1408. REMEMBER 1408?! Cusack! Hotel Room! F it, this will be the reteaming of John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. This is my most Tigs film.

The movie starts with our main character, John Cusack, on the phone with his friend, Samuel L. Jackson, one night. They are making plans to go golfing the next day as Cusack is making a pot of sleepy time tea. Samuel L. makes fun of him as Cusack slips a bit spilling the hot water on the stove. Samuel says he’ll be at John’s at 1030. John hangs up and walks away. He gets ready for bed and passes by a clock. The clock reads 10:10.

Red Dawn Remake Trailer Here!
This movie almost seems like it would be a Fake Movie Friday submission but it’s not.
Red Dawn has been remade. The original films bad guys were evil soviets. The remake was originally going to have the chinese as the villains, but then realized we don’t have beef with them, nor do we want it, so the asians eyes were digitally altered to be North Korean. Is that racist? Sure, but who cares right?
Anyway this film was made two years ago but when MGM fell onto hard times, this got shelved. This is probably a good thing because now Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are household names and stars of two of the highest grossing films of the year with huge fanbases. I see this movie doing better than it should because of that.

Because No One Asked For It…Alf:The Movie
Those geniuses at Sony Pictures Animation. You know those guys who want to hang with the big boys of Dreamworks and Pixar, and to a lesser extent Illumination and Blue Sky, but make mostly heartlessly dumb films like Open Season and Smurfs are about to start working on a live action/CGI hybrid version of Alf.
Remember Alf? Yea, neither does mostly anyone, but it was an alien that lived with a family and liked eating cats and had a funny voice. He even had a cereal (so did Urkel tho) and a cartoon. It was popular for like 2 years, and somehow that is just enough time to get a big budget hollywood kids film made.
I am more than ok with many properties getting the big screen treatment, but this just seems like it came out of an execs meeting that went something like this:
Exec 1 – “We need a movie. Smurfs was last year and it was dumb but did ok”
Exec 2- ” Derp!”
Exec 1- “Alf! I love it! good work Exec 2. Heres 57 million dollars!”

A day after the wondrous news of Joss Whedon being given the Marvel Film and TV reins by Disney, Warner Brothers is rumored to be flirting with a director for Justice League.
And it’s Ben Affleck. Um… ok?
